PROVO, Utah - BYU senior outfielder Brock Hale has been named preseason All-West Coast Conference ahead of the Cougars' 2019 season starting next week.

Hale was an All-West Coast Conference First Team honoree last season. He started all 50 games of 2018, leading the team with a .342 average, 67 hits, 40 runs, 31 RBI, 15 doubles and seven stolen bases while adding eight home runs and 22 walks.

He was named preseason All-WCC by the conference head coaches, who also tabbed the Cougars to finish sixth in the league.

In addition, D1Baseball.com tabbed Hale as its preseason WCC Player of the Year and All-WCC and for the Cougars to finish sixth as well. Perfect Game has Hale listed All-WCC as the "best pure hitter" in the conference and has BYU finishing fourth in the league.

BYU begins the 2019 season on Friday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m. MT against Northwestern at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona.
