PROVO, Utah – Sophomore outfielder Keaton Kringlen was named Player of the Week by the West Coast Conference and national source BaseballNews.com on Monday.

Kringlen brought home the honors after hitting .571 (8 for 14) in four games with four home runs and 14 RBIs. During the week, BYU went 4-0, with a win against Utah and a three-game sweep of West Coast Conference foe Saint Mary's.

In Thursday's game against the Gaels, Kringlen's two-run inside-the-park home run put the Cougars ahead for good in a 7-6 win. On Saturday, he tagged Saint Mary's pitching for three home runs, driving in seven runs.

The WCC award is BYU's first such honor this season. Seven Cougars were awarded last year.
