Five pitchers from Utah and a shortstop from Texas have signed November letters of intent with BYU baseball and coach Mike Littlewood.

Righthanders Mason Abrath of Salt Lake Community College (West High School) and Ryan Brady (Park City High) joined lefthanders Seth Corry (Lone Peak High), Mitch McIntyre (Stansbury High) and Benjamin Rigby (Davis High).

Koby Kelton, from Round Rock, Texas, was an Academic All-District shortstop/outfielder for Stony Point High School.

Abrath was honorable mention All-Region 18 in the Scenic West Conference. Brady was first team all-state.

Corry was a Perfect Game All-American at Lone Peak and was first team all-state as a sophomore and a 7-1 record with a 1.65 ERA.

McIntyre was second team all-state 3A.  Rigby was second-team all-state 5A.

Mason Abrath, RHP, 6-2, 195, West HS, Salt Lake Community College, Salt Lake City, Utah

Abrath posted a 6-1 record with a 3.00 earned run average for SLCC last season, striking out 43 in 42 innings. He was recruited by San Diego, Dixie State and Montana State-Billings. His brother Chance played baseball for Dixie and his grandfather Levi Hunt played basketball for BYU.

Littlewood on Mason Abrath – “Mason has front of the rotation stuff. He has a plus fastball with great feel for his slider and changeup. He also brings a wealth of experience from a top-notch junior college program.”

Ryan Brady, RHP, 6-1, 165,  Park City HS, Park City, Utah

Brady had a 7-4 record and a 1.13 ERA with 120 strikeouts and had a .370 batting average as a junior. He was recruited by Pepperdine, UC Santa Barbara and Dartmouth.  His father Jay played baseball for BYU.

Littlewood on Ryan Brady – “We expect Ryan to come in and contribute right away as a true freshman. He has tremendous pitchability and his mound presence is off the charts."

Seth Corry, LHP, 6-2, 195, Lone Peak HS, Highland, Utah

Corry was recruited by Oklahoma State, Florida State, US Santa Barbara, San Diego, Kansas, Arizona, Arizona State, Stanford, USC, UCLA, Cal-Berkeley, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State and Utah. He was all-region (twice in baseball and once in football).  In football he was first-team all-state and academic all-region.  His father played seven years of pro baseball with the Cardinals and Phillies organizations.

Littlewood on Seth Corry – “Seth is a high profile player who was recruited by most universities in the country. As a left-handed pitcher he brings one of the best fastballs in the country, and as good as he is on the mound he is equally impressive as an outfielder and hitter. He's a dynamic, athletic kid who has the potential to be one of the best college players in the country. Seth was also a highly recruited safety on his high school football team.”

Koby Kelton, Shortstop, outfield, 5-10, 170, Stony Point High School, Round Rock, Texas

Kelton  batted .315 last year and had 18 RBI, 15 stolen bases and was recruited by Missouri and Texas-Arlington.

Littlewood on Koby Kelton – “Koby is a tremendous athlete that can play virtually any position on the field. He can really run, throw, play defense and will be a great asset to our program.”

Mitch McIntyre, OF, LHP, 5-11, 180, Stansbury HS, Tooele, Utah

McIntyre was recruited by Oregon State, Utah, Utah Valley and Colorado Mesa.  He batted .454 with four home runs, 36 RBI, had a 5-1 record in 25 innings with 39 strikeouts as a junior. His mother Jill Whitehouse played softball for BYU and his grandfather Roy Whitehouse played football and baseball for Southern Utah.

Littlewood on Mitch McIntyre – “Mitch is another two-way guy that plays outfield and is a left-handed pitcher. Mitch has a knack of always hitting the ball on the barrel, and he plays the game with a certain toughness.  Mitch also played quarterback Stansbury HS and he will bring great leadership skills to the program.”

Benjamin Rigby, LHP, 6-6, 205, Davis HS, Kaysville, Utah

Rigby had a 7-2 record with a  3.07 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 59.1 innings, posting three shutouts as a junior with six complete games. He was recruited by Hawaii and Liberty University, and by Weber State in basketball.

Littlewood on Ben Rigby – “Another great athlete, Ben had opportunities to play college basketball. As a 6-foot-6 left-handed pitcher the sky is the limit for him. Ben will go directly out on his LDS mission, and we are looking forward to getting him back and on the mound.“
