A pair of preseason tournaments at Georgia Tech and San Jose State are among the challenges on BYU baseball’s 2017 schedule.

The defending West Coast Conference tri-champions come off their 37-17 record last season and start the 2017 year in February at Georgia Tech in the tourney which also includes Kennesaw State and Georgia State. The San Jose State tournament also includes Northern Colorado.

Fifth-year coach Mike Littlewood then takes his team to the San Jose State Tournament the next week.

BYU’s home season starts on March 9 in a four-game series against College World Series finalist UC Santa Barbara.  The following week the Cougars host games against New Mexico State and a three-game series with the University of Connecticut.

The three-game series with both Utah and Utah Valley has a pair of away games and the final game against each instate rival at Larry H. Miller Field in May. The other non-conference games on the Cougar schedule is a three-game series the first of March at Cal State Bakersfield.

The series against fellow WCC tri-champions Saint Mary’s and Gonzaga will be in Provo and at Spokane, Washington, respectively.
