PROVO, Utah (May 23, 2016)—Centerfielder Brennon Lund of BYU baseball has been named the Rawlings West Coast Conference Player of the Week heading into the league tournament Thursday.

Lund, of the tri-WCC champion Cougars, raised his batting average from .389 to .400 in four games played last week against Utah and Santa Clara.  He hit the game-winning RBI with a two-out single in the fourth inning of BYU's 8-2 victory over Santa Clara in the opener. Lund currently leads the team with a nine-game hitting streak.

This is the second time this season Lund has been named to the WCC honor.
