Robinson named to All-WCC Tournament Team

STOCKTON, Calif.—Infielder Dillon Robinson was the only BYU player named to the West Coast Conference All-Tournament baseball team as the four-team tourney concluded Saturday night.

The senior from Pleasant Grove, Utah, batted a combined 4-for-7 for the Cougars in two tournament games, tallying four RBI, including a two-run homer in the opener against Pepperdine.

“Dillon got it done for us all year long and he took that approach right in the tournament,” BYU coach Mike Littlewood said. “He set a great example for our younger guys and will be sorely missed in our lineup next year.”

Earlier last week Robinson was named First-Team All-WCC and First-Team Academic All-WCC.

Brad Anderson of tourney champion Pepperdine was named MVP of the WCC Tournament. Pepperdine earned the automatic berth to the NCAA postseason tournament with a 4-2 win in the title game over Loyola Marymount. The 2015 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship Selection Show, with regional pairings, will be revealed in a live, one-hour telecast on ESPNU at Noon (ET), Monday, May 25.
