Hannemann gets second Freshman All-American honor
PROVO, Utah -- BYU outfielder Jacob Hannemann has been named to the 2013 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Freshman All-American Second Team.
Hannemann, who was drafted last week in the third round by the Chicago Cubs, netted his second Freshman All-America honor and was the only player from the West Coast Conference named to the team. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound freshman from Alpine, Utah, continues to add to his honors this season. Other previous honors include Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball newspaper, College Sports Madness WCC Freshman of the Year, College Sports Madness All-WCC 1st Team, All-WCC Freshman Team (Coaches), Rawlings WCC Player of Week (for games vs. UVU and Santa Clara) and tying the school record with two triples in one game vs. UC Irvine.
