Graduated from Utah State in 1999 with a degree in exercise science and a minor in Spanish.

Prior to BYU

Coached the hurdles, long sprinters and relays as an assistant track and field coach at Utah State University.

Playing Career

Murdock was a four-time All-American in the 400m hurdles while competing at Utah State and holds the school record in the event (48.85). He also owns the school record for the indoor 400m (46.51). In 1998 Murdock was named the Big West Conference Track and Field Athlete of the Year. In 1999 he finished in second place at the NCAA Championships in the 400m hurdles.


Married to the former Josie Gibbons and the couple has three sons, Parker, Tucker and Skyler.
