PROVO, Utah — No. 6 BYU men’s track and field wrapped up day two of the Robison Invitational as the decathlon concluded Thursday.

Dallin Vorkink - the only Cougar to compete in the decathlon - finished seventh overall with 5,789 points. His first two events of the day became new personal bests as the senior bolted to a 14.87 time in the 110-meter hurdles and heaved the discus nearly eight feet ahead of his previous record to post a 46.14m/151-4.5.

Vorkink’s performance in the discus throw placed him atop all decathletes in the event, good for over 17 feet ahead of Weber State’s runner-up Caleb Whitney. In the javelin toss, he took third with a throw that measured 49.63m/162-10.

The Cougars are back in action Friday with the men’s hammer throw beginning at 11:00 a.m. MDT.
