PROVO, Utah – Kyle Collinsworth led BYU men's basketball to an 84-59 win against Pacific with a near triple-double Saturday night at the Marriott Center.

"That was a good team win for our guys," BYU head coach Dave Rose said. "I think we had quite a few players that really stepped up and really played well. We shared the ball well. In the last 15 minutes of the second half we just played really inspired. I'm happy for our guys. Now we look forward to San Diego next week."

The victory gives Rose his 10th-consecutive season of at least 20 wins.

Collinsworth led the Cougars with 12 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists for a near sixth triple-double of the season. Tyler Haws added a game-high 20 points, while Skyler Halford and Chase Fischer each added 18 and 16 points, respectively. Josh Sharp was a presence in the post, collecting eight boards and two blocks.

Fischer gave BYU (20-8, 10-5 West Coast Conference) its first points of the game from a 3-pointer to go up 3-2 early. Pacific (10-16, 2-12 WCC) stayed in the game as TJ Wallace hit a jumper to give his team an 8-5 advantage.

The Cougars scored the next seven-consecutive points, capped off by a Haws jumper, to retake a 12-8 lead. The Tigers countered with back-to-back 3-pointers as they went up by two, 14-12.

The teams traded points from there until straight outside shots from Haws and a layup from Dalton Nixon on an inbounds play gave BYU another 7-0 run and put the Cougars ahead 23-18. Continuing the trend of runs, Pacific scored the next six points, retaking a 24-23 advantage on a made shot from the charity stripe.

The score went back-and-forth until the end of the half as Collinsworth made a free throw to put the Cougars up 33-30 at the break. Fischer had 10 points and Collinsworth had six boards to lead BYU at halftime.

Collinsworth got his own rebound and made the putback to lengthen the Cougars' lead to four at 40-36 following the intermission. A long-distance Tiger jumper knotted things back up at 43-all, but another Haws bucket kept BYU in the lead, 45-43.

Haws gave the Cougars a five-point lead at 49-44, but Pacific rallied with back-to-back 3-pointers to go back up 50-49. After a 14-0 BYU run, which included back-to-back Halford buckets, the Cougars took their largest lead to that point at 63-50.

Corbin Kaufusi created space down low to get consecutive buckets which were followed by a Halford layup to extend BYU's advantage back to 13 at 72-59. The Cougars continued the offensive input as they cruised to an 84-59 win.

The Cougars return to the Marriott Center on Thursday to face off against San Diego at 8 p.m. MST. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU and the Cougar IMG Sports Network on KSL Newsradio 1160 AM/102.7 FM. Links to live stats can be found on the BYU men's basketball schedule page
