Before BYU

• Attended Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix, Arizona where he was four-time letter winner in golf
• Entered college with 102 tournament victories, three holes-in-one and multiple honors and records at Arizona courses
• Once posted eight straight birdies at Talking Stick South (August of 2002 with a 7-seven under 64) and posted 11 birdies in one round en route to a course record 10-under 62 at Tempe's Ken McDonald Golf Course in September of 2005
• Set the course record with a 4-under 68 at the Guangzhou (China) Dragon Lake Golf Club
• Finished second overall at the 2006 5A Arizona State Championships after losing on the fifth playoff hole
• Fourth two-time winner of the Trusted Choice Big I Junior Classic as he took first place honors in 2005 at Purdue University's Kampen Course in August which included a 66 in the second round and a 69 in the final round and then won 2006 honors at Odessa Country Club's Old Course, with a tournament-best of 17-under par
