A 6-foot-8 forward from Salt Lake City, Meads played in 47 games for the Cougars over two seasons, starting in 27 contests and averaging 4.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game ... He showed promise as a heavily recruited McDonald's High School All-American, but was hampered by injury throughout his collegiate career, including 12 missed games in 2004-05 due to injury ... Because of the ongoing recovery process from his injuries, Meads announced in June 2005 that he was unable to continue playing basketball ... Meads entered his first year with BYU in 2000-01 after selecting the Cougars over Stanford and Utah, but suffered a punctured-lung injury the first week of practice and ended up deciding to redshirt ... After returning from a two-year LDS Church mission and splitting his redshirt season between the fall of 2000 and the winter of 2003, Meads completed his freshman season in 2004 and his sophomore year in 2005 ... As a player he could bang inside but had a nice mid-range game ... Meads has excelled academically at BYU with a 3.81 GPA studying exercise science on the pre-med track with a business minor ... An Academic All-MWC recipient and Cougar Club Scholar Athlete, Meads plans to finish his undergraduate degree at BYU before pursuing a post-graduate education ... Meads recorded career highs of 19 points and 11 rebounds during his BYU career.

Freshman Year 2003-2004

Meads started 18 games as a redshirt freshman, including 16 of the last 17 games ... Overall, he appeared in 29 of 30 games, averaging 4.2 points and 2.9 rebounds while shooting .540 from the floor and .644 from the line in 16 minutes per game ... He played double-digit minutes in 21 games, including 16 of the last 19 ... He was fifth on the team in rebounds, sixth in scoring and had the third-best field goal percentage ... In MWC games, he was fifth on the team in scoring at 6.3 ppg, and tied for second in rebounds at 3.7 rpg ... He shot 59 percent in league games, which would have rated second among MWC players but he hadn't taken the minimum three shots per game ... He had four double-figure scoring games and one double-digit rebounding outing ... He led BYU in rebounds in two games ... He had a career-best 2 blocks and tied personal-best 2 steals vs. Utah, scoring two of his four points with a drive to the hoop during a BYU run that gave the Cougars momentum towards the win ... SUMMER TOUR IN AUSTRALIA (2003): Meads averaged 9.3 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 0.3 apg and 1.0 spg in 18.6 minutes.

Sophmore Year 2004-2005

Averaged 4.3 rebounds, third on the team, and 4.4 points per game while shooting 39.2 percent from the floor ... Played in 18 games, starting in nine ... Scored in double figures twice while also notching double-digit rebounds twice and led the team in boards four times ... Played for six minutes vs. UNM in the MWC Tournament after missing the prior seven games due to a leg injury ... He had a productive 5 points and 4 rebounds in his six minutes vs. the Lobos ... Pulled down 4 rebounds while adding 4 points in 17 minutes against Utah ... Started against Air Force, scoring 6 points on 3-for-6 shooting in 27 minutes ... In his first start since Dec. 18, Meads recorded a career-high 11 rebounds against MSU-Billings ... Scored 5 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 12 minutes vs. SDSU after missing the prior three games with a foot injury ... He missed two games earlier with an injured ankle ...
