Michaelis on coaching staff: What I respect most in coach Cleveland is his confidence that we will win and his desire to improve. The coaching staff has helped me with the little things that help me improve. I appreciate how the staff wants to help me become a well rounded individual on and off the court.
Michaelis on BYU: I enjoy the combination of spirituality and college life. The basketball facilities are first class - it's a little humbling looking up to the top of the Marriott Center.

Before BYU

Played at Utah Valley State College ... in 1996 he played in 33 games, averaging 8.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks.
Prepped at Taylorsville High School where he averaged 13.3 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots ... earned all-state and all-region honors ... helpedthe Warriors to the region championship, a 19 5 record and a ninth-place finish ... set a team record with 71 blocked shots in one season ... was team co-MVP ... high school teammate of BYU guard Michael Vranes ... coached by Ken Rassemsen
