Parents are Steven and Lisa ... grandfather Ed Pinegar played at BYU in the 1950's and father Steven played at Utah State in the late 1970's ... has six sisters and two brothers ... served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Canada Toronto East mission from 2005-07 ... enjoys wakeboarding, driving, playing the piano and movies ... also recruited by Utah State.

Before BYU

TIMPVIEW HIGH SCHOOL: McDonald's High School All-America nominee ... helped his team win the region championship as a senior before falling in the state quarterfinals ... averaged 16 points, three assists and two steals per game ... named 4A first-team all-state as a junior and senior ... also earned Utah Valley MVP and Valley Player of the Year as a junior ... helped his team win the state 4A title posting 13.8 points, 4.0 assists and 2.3 steals per game as a junior ... was the only freshman on the varsity team in 2000-02 ... coached by Perry Wildeboer ... also active in a capella club ... played for the Utah Heat AAU club under head coach Chris Jones.
