1981 BYU Hall of Fame
In his senior year Jack Christensen led Jordan High School to Utah State Championships in both basketball and football. During his career at BYU, Jack was an outstanding all-around athlete, participating in football, basketball, and track.
In football Jack was impressive as a running back, and received All-Conference honors as a tailback in 1939. As a member of the track team he won the conference championship in the long jump. In salute to his superior career, Jack received the Ed Stein Award as the outstanding athlete at BYU.
As well as being a talented athlete, Jack was also strong academically. He was a straight “A” student all through college, and was on the All-American Honor Roll.
In 1934 he married Vida Whiting Attis. They were blessed with two children, a boy and a girl.
