Freshman Year

Sophmore Year 1949-1950

  • Appeared in 31 games and averaged 3.5 points and 1.8 rebounds

Summary from the 1949-50 Media Guide

Only a sophomore, Romney has proved to be one of the best guard prospects on the team and will be making a fight out of it for a starting berth. A hard-working type of player, Jerry spends all of his spare time trying to iron out wrinkles in his playing. He’s a high-jumping lad and covers good on the back court, seems to know where everyone is at the same time. A sure passer, his two-handed shots from ‘way out have amazed local fans in practice thus far this season.

Junior Year 1950-1951

  • Appeared in 37 games and averaged 6.8 points and 4.8 rebounds

Summary from the 1950-51 Media Guide

Although a letterman last year, Jerry was not a regular starter. He is very eager and often makes an amazing shot, but his enthusiasm sometimes runs away with him. With a year of varsity experience behind him he will likely play more consistent and accurate ball this year.

Senior Year 1951-1952

  • Played in 23 games and averaged 10.7 points and 5.1 rebounds
