Summary

A lightning quick point guard, Lamont Morgan, Jr., was a key contributor for the Cougars in 2008-09 as they won a share of the MWC regular season title and earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Morgan, Jr., averaged 3.6 points and 1.8 assists off the bench while shooting 41.4 percent on threes. In 2009-10, his senior season, Morgan, Jr., was a team captain and helped BYU advance to the second round of the MWC Tournament. He averaged 1.9 points and 1.4 assists while shooting .633 from the field and .692 from three. He brings excellent ball-handling, court vision and an up-tempo style to the court. Morgan, Jr., redshirted in 07-08 after transferring from Saddleback Community College in Mission Viejo, Calif. A highly successful junior college program, SCC advanced to the state semifinal game in 2007 behind the play of Morgan, who started every game at the point and averaged 4.4 assists per contest.
