Cougars to compete in ASU Tournament
PROVO, Utah – The BYU women’s tennis team travels south this weekend to compete in the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational at the Whiteman Tennis Center in Tempe, Ariz. on Friday and Saturday.
“I’m looking for them to compete hard this weekend,” coach Lauren Jones-Spencer said. “We’ve been working on foot work, our movement to the ball and focusing a lot on doubles. I think we have our teams figured out a little better so we are really hoping to do better in the doubles matches.”
Six other teams will compete at the tournament including Arizona State, Ohio State, San Diego, Kansas State, Michigan and Cal.
This tournament will be the last even before regular season matches being in January.
The Cougars last played on Oct. 13 at the USTA Mountain Regional Championships. Junior Desiree Tran won three matches and advanced to the Round of 16.
