Cougars Continue Conference Play at Home
PROVO, Utah – The BYU women’s tennis team continues West Coast Conference play as it hosts the University of San Francisco this Saturday at the BYU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
“It was a rough three weeks of away matches,” BYU coach Lauren Jones-Spencer said. “I think the girls handled it well and we’re all excited to be back at home. San Francisco has a good team and good coaches. We’re not going to take anyone lightly. We’re going to play our game and play tough."
The Cougars (4-10, 0-1 WCC) are coming off a 5-2 loss to then-No. 72 University of San Diego, their first home match in three weeks.
Freshman Meghan Sheehan-Dizon leads the team in singles with a 9-5 dual record. At the No. 1 doubles position, senior Megan Price and junior Desiree Tran hold a team-best 4-1 dual doubles record.
In their last match, the Dons (2-7, 0-1 WCC) dropped a 7-0 decision to Saint Mary’s. San Francisco takes on Utah State Friday before heading to Provo Saturday.
The match kicks off at 11 a.m. MST at the BYU Outdoor Tennis Courts, weather pending. Admission is free. Spectators may park in the “Y Lot” parking lots to the northwest and southwest of the courts.
