PULLMAN, Wash. – The BYU women’s tennis team hit another tough loss on the road Saturday, falling 4-3 to the Idaho Vandals.

“We didn’t come out ready to play this weekend,” BYU coach Lauren Jones-Spencer said. “We had two tough losses this weekend, but we are going to get back up and work harder next week.”

The Vandals (8-4) took the doubles point after wins on courts 2 and 3. Sophomore Desiree Tran and freshman Morgan Anderson fell 8-5 while junior Aubrey Paul and freshman Lisa Waldron lost a tough decision on Court 3, 9-7.

Playing at the No. 1 doubles position, senior Megan Price and freshman Meghan Sheehan-Dizon won the lone doubles point for the Cougars (2-5), topping Almudena Sanz and Victoria Lozano, 8-1. The victory extended the duo’s winning streak to five.

Idaho put up quick, straight-set singles wins over Price (6-0, 6-4) and Anderson (6-2, 6-4) on courts 2 and 3, respectively.

Playing at the No. 4 position, Sheehan-Dizon pushed Sophie Vickers to three sets before taking BYU’s only non-default singles victory, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.

Tran fell 6-2, 7-5 to Lozano on Court 1 to give Idaho its fourth point, securing the match win for the Vandals. As a result of the win, Idaho defaulted to Paul and Waldron on courts 5 and 6, respectively.
