BERKELEY – The BYU women’s tennis team fought valiantly but was unable to find its stroke at the Cal Nike Invitational on Friday.

The Cougars struggled in singles action, but did receive a strong effort from Aubrey Paul. Paul won her opening round 6-3; 6-0, before defeating Iva Lepcevska of Nevada in straight sets in the quarterfinals.

Paul and Lisa Waldron teamed up in doubles to defeat South Carolina’s Carolina O'Haren and Charlotte Newell 9-7.

Paul and Waldron were not the only Cougars to compete. Desiree Tran, Morgan Anderson, Megan Price and Meghan Sheehan-Dizon also competed in the day’s events, but failed to advance.
