PROVO, Utah – The Mountain West Conference announced two BYU women’s tennis athletes as recipients of the 2010-11 Scholar-Athlete Award on Tuesday.
Athletes qualify for the award by completing at least two academic terms at BYU, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in an NCAA-sponsored sport.
Sisters Callie Craig and Kelsie Craig, freshmen from Orem, Utah, represent the women’s tennis team as recipients of the award.
The Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the MWC. This year’s mark sets a new league record with 581 student-athletes honored.
