Two Women's Tennis Players Receive Conference Honors
PROVO, Utah -- The Mountain West Conference named freshman Callie Craig and Junior Megan Price to the Women’s Tennis All-MW Singles and Doubles Teams Wednesday.
Craig, a native of Orem, Utah, went 22-13 in singles this season and 5-3 in conference. In fall play, she took the BYU Invitational singles title and went 6-2 at the No. 2 position.
Team captain Price earned a 16-19 overall singles record and played all but one match at the No. 1 position.
Together, the duo compiled a 21-11 doubles record. The pair also won the BYU Invitational doubles title in the fall and defeated Ole Miss’s Kristi Boxx and Abby Guthrie, who were No. 22 in the nation at the time, prior to conference play. Price and Craig ranked as high as No. 53 in the nation during the season.
Up next for the Cougars, a quarterfinal match against TCU in the MWC tournament Thursday at 2 p.m.
