Another Road Loss for Netters

MINNEAPOLIS -- A tough singles round left the BYU women’s tennis team behind No. 39 North Carolina State, leading to a 5-1 loss Saturday.

Aubrey Paul came through again for the Cougars (4-5) with a win on Court 6 against Chloe Smith 6-2, 6-3. The win was Paul’s eighth of the season, increasing her season record to 8-1.

Team captain Megan Price came back to tie her match in the second set on Court 1, but North Carolina State’s Sanaa Bhambri took the third set for a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win.

BYU suffered straight-set losses on the other courts.

Doubles matches were not played at this match.

Next up, the Cougars play Fresno State March 3 and UC Irvine March 5 on the road.
