PACIFIC PALISADES -- McCall Jones and Megan Price secured a spot in the quarterfinals at the ITA All-American Championships with an 8-4 upset victory over preseason No. 4 pair Andrea Remynse and Yasmin Schnack from UCLA.

The sophomores will continue toward the championships Friday against Baylor’s Lenka Broosova and Csilla Borsanyi. The No. 8 Bears duo earned their place in the quarters after beating the No. 21 tandem from Princeton.

Jones resumed play in the singles qualifying consolation draw where she recorded two big wins. The first came over preseason No. 28 Katie Rybakova from FSU 7-5, 7-5. Jones then played her way into the semifinals with a straight-set victory over No. 43 Nadja Gilchrist. These wins represent the highest-ranked opponents the Cougar standout has beaten in her career.

Friday Jones will face conference opponent Kayla Duncan from TCU. Duncan is unranked in the preseason poll but has defeated four players in the top 100 at the tournament so far.

Matches will be played at the Riviera Tennis Club through the weekend. For updated draws and results, click here.
