BYU Plays Host to Utah State
PROVO -- The No. 47 BYU women’s tennis team (1-2) will take on the Utah State Aggies (1-0) at home this weekend. The Cougars are looking to bounce back after last week’s loss to No. 38 Washington.
Utah State is coming to Provo after earning its first win of the season with a 6-1 win over Idaho State. BYU swept the Aggies last season and leads all-time 6-0.
“I’m hoping we continue to play better each day,” BYU coach Craig Manning said.
Several Cougars faced opponents from Utah State at the BYU Invitational in the fall. Freshmen Romina Nedakovic and McCall Jones earned victories over USU players during the tournament.
Manning said the team has been working on different things in practice this week, and Friday’s match will be the first chance the players will have to execute the changes.
“I want to put what we’ve worked on in practice into match play,” Manning said.
The match begins at 3 p.m. at the BYU Indoor Tennis Courts. The courts are south of the Smith Fieldhouse. Admission to the match is free. All “Y Lot” parking lots are available to the public after 4 p.m.
