
Another Conference Win for BYU

LARAMIE -- The No. 39 BYU women's tennis team racked up another Mountain West Conference victory on Saturday after handing Wyoming a 4-2 loss. The Cougars improve to 13-8 overall and 5-0 in conference play.
Skipping doubles action, the match went straight into singles play, where BYU's Chie Hayasaka recorded her fifth straight-set win in as many matches, defeating Wyoming's Carly Van Hollen 6-4, 7-5.
No. 65 Anastasia Surkova and No. 87 Kristina Doerr also defeated their Cowgirl opponents in straight sets on the first and second courts, respectively. Freshman Elle Carney notched BYU's last win of the day at the No. 5 position, pulling out a tough 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 win over Michelle Brown.
Wyoming's two points came off wins against Elizaveta Ezhova and Jocelyn Jensen.
Next week the Cougars travel to take on New Mexico and TCU.
