PROVO -- After a week off, the No. 52 BYU women's tennis team returns to action on Thursday when it hosts No. 33 South Carolina at the BYU Indoor Tennis Courts. The series record between these two teams is tied 8-8, with the Cougars defeating the Gamecocks in their last meeting in 2005.

BYU improved to 7-6 on the season after back-to-back home wins against Nevada and Kansas on Feb. 29 and March 1, respectively. Kristina Doerr, the nation's 85th-ranked singles player, currently posts a seven-match win streak.

South Carolina dropped a 4-3 decision to No. 17 Tennessee on Sunday in Knoxville, Tenn. The Gamecocks are led by No. 23 Gira Schofield and No. 69 Ana Zubori. The pair is also ranked No. 19 nationally in doubles action.

Thursday's match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. MT and admission is free. BYU "Y Lot" parking is available to visitors after 4 p.m. Free popcorn, pizza and prizes will be available for those in attendance.
