Cougars Blank Broncos

BOISE -- Going undefeated in every match, the No. 17 BYU women's tennis team (15-4, 3-0) blanked the Boise State Broncos 7-0 on the opening day of the Barbara Chandler Classic, hosted by Boise State.

The Cougars saw wins at every spot in doubles and singles. Pushing past Boise's top doubles seed at the No. 1 position, Barbora Zahnova and Sofia Holden posted a 9-8 win over Jamima Hayward and Erin Polowski.

"We played really well at doubles," head coach Craig Manning said. "We made the switch at Nos. 2 and 3, and that really paid off. We really stuck it out at the No. 1 spot. We just need to stay humble and keep our focus."

Tomorrow the Cougars will face the Rice Owls in Boise for the second day of the Chandler Classic.
