Two on the Road
PROVO -- The No. 45 BYU women's tennis team will be on the road for two straight this week as it faces the Cougars of Washington State (No. 51) and the seventh ranked Washington Huskies.
The University of Washington is 2-0 on the season and comes off a shut out against the Idaho Vandals last week. The seventh ranked Huskies have yet to lose a single set this season having swept their first two opponents.
BYU's top seeded Barbora Zahnova will go up against the Husky's No. 1 seed, Dea Sumantri from Jakarta, Indonesia in doubles and singles. Sumantri is currently ranked 49th nationally.
Washington State recently finished the PAC-10 Indoor Championships where it walked away with 14 wins, led by senior Lorena Arias. The Cougars look to avenge their loss against Washington State after falling 3-4 during the 2003 campaign.
"Our girls will be prepared for both teams," head coach Craig Manning said. "We've got some things to work on this week, but we will be ready. These matches will be true test for our team."
