Women's Team Defeats No. 22 UNLV, 6-1

PROVO -- After a tough 4-3 loss to the thirty-fourth ranked team on Friday, the BYU women's tennis team came back on Saturday and beat No. 22 UNLV 6-1. The win improves the Cougars to 8-10 overall and 3-2 in MWC play.

"This is a big win for us," said BYU head coach Craig Manning. "It just goes to show you that on any given day, we can beat any team in the nation. We've been working really hard and it's great to see that hard work pay off."

The Cougars won the doubles point by sweeping all three doubles matches.

In singles, BYU won at five of the six spots. Dominique Reynolds won at the No. 2 spot after Paulina Janus retired after playing just two games.

The next match for the Cougars is next Wednesday in Provo against Idaho State at 3 p.m.
