Cougars lose to No. 20 Washington, 5-2

LEWISTON -- The No. 49 BYU women's tennis team dropped a tough match to No. 20 Washington 5-2 on Saturday. The loss drops the Cougars to 4-5 on the season.

Olga Boulytcheva and Rebecca Pike won at the No. 3 doubles spot by beating Erin Boisclair and Hadzic 8-4. Washington won at the other two positions, securing the doubles point.

In singles, the Huskies won at the first four singles positions to claim the victory over the Cougars. Hadley MacFarlane won by default to extend her unbeaten streak to 9-0 in dual match play. Nicole Schneider was able to win by default.

The Cougars tough road trip continues on Monday when they face No. 16 Fresno State in Fresno.
