Macfarlane and Schneider Lose in Quarterfinals of Regionals

TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 26, 2002) Hadley Macfarlane and Nicole Schneider of the BYU women's tennis team were unable to advance past the quarterfinals of the 2002 Regional Championships in Tulsa, Okla. on Saturday. They lost to Anda Perianu and Heather Saluri of Oklahoma 8-5.

Macfarlane and Schneider were the last remaining Cougars in the Regional Championships. Although BYU is done with the tournament, head coach Craig Manning said he felt the week was advantageous to the team.

"I thought we played great this week," Manning said. "We played some tough opponents and got some great experience that will help us more and more as the season goes on."

The Regional Championships marked the final tournament the Cougars will be participating in this fall. They resume play on Jan. 24, 2003 when they play Kansas State in Manhatten, Kan.
