BYU To Play Rams In First Round Of Tournament
The 47th-ranked BYU women's tennis team will open play in the Mountain West Conference Tournament Thursday at 2 p.m. against Colorado State in Las Vegas.
The Cougars are the third seed in the tournament and will look to improve their Mountain West record to 4-1 as they face the sixth-seeded Rams for the first time this season. BYU has defeated UNLV, New Mexico and Utah this season and lost on the road to top-seeded San Diego State.
Senior Eline Chiew leads the Cougars with a 16-13 singles record. She is currently ranked 92nd in the country and is 6-11 in dual matches, all of which were at number one singles.
The tournament will continue through Saturday at the Frank & Vicki Fertitta Tennis Complex in Las Vegas.
