No. 6 Notre Dame Overpowers BYU

PROVO -- The sixth-ranked Notre Dame women's tennis team defeated the No. 44 Cougars, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon at the University of Kansas. The loss ends a three-game road trip for BYU, in which they went 1-2, defeating Kansas State, but also losing to Kansas.

The lone BYU victory in the match came from an 8-4 in win doubles by Dominique Reynolds and Elizaveta Khoudoiarova over Notre Dame's Kimberly Guy and Katie Cunha.

"They are a really good team," said BYU coach Craig Manning. "They (Notre Dame) played really well, especially on the indoor courts. Our girls are a little tired, it'll be nice to go home."

The Cougars, at 6-4 on the season, lost every singles match of the day, thefirst time that has happened all year. Notre Dame, at No. 6 in the nation, is enjoying their highest ranking ever in women's tennis. Their top player, Michelle Dasso, is ranked No. 2 in singles.
