Cougars Finish Pre-Season on High Note

Playing in its last pre-season tournament, the BYU women's tennis team excelled at the Duck Classic Invitational in Eugene, Ore. The Cougars took on Tulsa on Friday and Oregon on Saturday and ended the pre-season on a high note.

The tournament featured five teams including BYU, with host Oregon, Portland, New Mexico and Tulsa. It was similar to two dual matches, rather than an open tournament.

Dominique Reynolds did not lose a match over the weekend. In two singles matches and two doubles matches, where she teamed up with Liza Khoudoiarova, Reynolds came out on top in each match.

Brooke Beverly dominated singles at the tournament. After defeating Jana Sedivec of Tulsa on Friday, Beverly came back on Saturday to defeat Courtney Nagle of Oregon, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.

"It was a great match," head coach Craig Manning said. "Brooke played awesome."

The Cougars now have the next two months off before beginning their regular season in January. Full results for the two days of the tournament are listed below.
