SAN MATEO, Calif. – BYU women's tennis sophomore Bobo Huang was named to the 2023 All-WCC Preseason Team in the annual West Coast Conference Women's Tennis Preseason Coaches Poll, announced on Thursday.

The team and preseason poll are picked after compiling votes from the conference's 10 head coaches.

Huang made the preseason team for the first time in her young BYU career and is the first Cougar to make the list since Mayci Jones in 2017. Huang is coming off a successful fall season where she went 9-2 in doubles and 4-4 in singles. Huang, along with her doubles partner Emilee Astle, were the first to make an appearance at nationals last fall for BYU since 2006.

The Cougars were selected to finish fifth as a team in the preseason poll and earned 49 points. Pepperdine received the most first-place votes (nine) and earned 81 points. The Waves are ranked No. 10 nationally.

BYU will begin its season on Jan. 27 at Weber State and is slated to begin WCC play at home against LMU on Feb. 10.
