Women's tennis returns home after long road stretch

PROVO, Utah – Women’s tennis comes back home for the first time in over a month to take on Oregon and WCC foe San Diego. BYU looks to improve its record after splitting its matches last weekend.

The Cougars open play this week against the Ducks. Oregon is 11-5 on the season and is currently on a three-match win streak beating two Top 25 teams. The Ducks are 3-1 in common opponents this year, defeating Portland 6-1, and most recently Washington State 5-2 and No. 20 Washington 4-0. BYU leads the all-time series 4-3 and looks to add another win on Thursday afternoon as the Ducks are 1-2 in away matches.

BYU will close out the week by taking on WCC competitor San Diego. The Cougars and the Toreros faced off during the ITA Kick-off Weekend in January with San Diego sweeping BYU 4-0. The Toreros have boasted a 12-3 record this season, 3-0 in conference while also going 2-2 on the road and is currently on a seven-match win streak. San Diego currently leads the all-time record with BYU 7-4.

BYU takes on Oregon Thursday, March 31 at 12 p.m. MDT and San Diego Saturday, April 2 at 12 p.m. MDT.
