BYU to host No. 6 Pepperdine on Senior Day

PROVO, Utah – BYU women’s tennis (15-8, 4-3 WCC) will conclude the regular season when it welcomes the sixth-ranked Pepperdine Waves to the Outdoor Tennis Courts on Friday, April 23. The Cougars will honor two seniors in Madeline Wanlass and Polina Malykh for their 2021 Senior Day.
BYU Notes (15-8, 4-3 West Coast Conference)
- BYU is 15-8. The Cougars were defeated by San Francisco, 6-1, on Saturday and will be looking to finish the season on a positive note.
- BYU has wins over Santa Clara, Gonzaga, Washington State, Pacific, Utah State, Portland, Grand Canyon, Seattle, Boise State, Sacramento State, Fresno State, Dixie State (twice), Weber State (twice). The Cougars have losses to San Francisco, San Diego, Saint Mary’s, Utah, Oregon, Denver, Colorado, Cal Poly.
- Five players have reached double-digit wins this season: Leah Heimuli (15-7), Emilee Astle (14-8), Helen Jiao (13-8), Anastasia Abramyan (12-7), Madeline Wanlass (11-3).
- The Cougars have defended their homes courts this season and are 9-1 as the home team. BYU is 18-5 at home the last three seasons.
