BYU women's tennis opens season hosting Boise State and New Mexico
PROVO, Utah – The BYU women’s tennis team opens up its home schedule hosting Boise State and New Mexico this weekend.
The Cougars will battle the Broncos on Friday, Feb. 8, at 12 p.m. MST. On Saturday, BYU takes on New Mexico at 10 a.m. MST. Both matches will be played in the Indoor Tennis Courts.
BYU is 1-1 on the season with a win over in-state foe Weber State and a 5-2 loss to Denver. Madeline Almeida remains undefeated in both singles and doubles play with a 2-0 record. Almeida and Polina Malykh were also named WCC Women's Doubles Team of the Week on Tuesday.
Boise State
Boise State has compiled a 2-2 record on the year. BYU’s all-time record against Boise State is 13-3.
New Mexico
The Lobos are 3-4 on the year and play the University of Utah on Friday before traveling down to Provo for their match against the Cougars. BYU leads the series with New Mexico 10-4.
