Rolling Hills Estates, California — Sophomore Kate Cusick and freshman Anastasia Abramyan had a big win in the doubles Quarterfinals of the Jack Kramer Invitational Friday.
The duo defeated West Coast Conference foes Laura Gulbe and Dizina Milovanovic of Pepperdine, 8-3. Cusick and Abramyan will compete in the Semifinals Saturday against UC Santa Barbara’s Amit Lev-Ari and Natalie Dasilveira.
In the Round of 32 of the main singles draw, junior Taylah Beckman competed against UCLA's Terri Fleming. Beckman lost the first set 6-2 and fought back in the second set but fell 6-4.
Five Cougars competed in the singles Consolation Round.
