Home opener brings Denver to Provo
PROVO, Utah – BYU women's tennis (1-1) is set to host the University of Denver this Saturday, Feb. 6 in its season home opener. The match begins at noon and will be played in the school's indoor tennis courts.
"We're really excited to have our first home match ," BYU head coach Lauren Jones-Spencer said. ""With the week off we've had time to prepare for Denver and the girls are excited and ready to go. "
The Cougars play at home after defeating No. 66 Maryland 5-2 as part of the ITA Kickoff Weekend held in Charlottesville, Virginia following a loss to No. 8 Virginia.
The Pioneers (5-1) are coming off a 4-3 win over Utah and are currently ranked No. 69 with wins over Colorado, Boise State, Memphis and Penn State and a loss to No. 1 Vanderbilt.
Last season, the Cougars fell 5-2 to the Pioneers in a match played in Denver.
