
Jones leads Cougars into ITA Regional Championships

PROVO, Utah – Sophomore Mayci Jones leads BYU women’s tennis to the ITA Regional Championships this week, Oct. 15-18, at the McKinnon Family Tennis Stadium in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as the No. 3 ranked singles player. Jones will also team up with sophomore Toby Miclat as the No. 1 ranked duo in the doubles draw.
Joining Jones in the singles draw are teammates Nicolette Tran, Savannah Ware, Miclat, Meghan Sheehan-Dizon, Morgan Anderson-Littlewood and Katie Fitt. Tran is the No. 9 singles player in the draw and will receive a first-round bye. Sheehan-Dizon and Ware are both slotted as No. 17 seeds while Miclat and Fitt are listed in the main singles draw.
As a double duo, Jones and Miclat are coming off an invitation to the All-American Championships two weeks ago and will advance to the second round with a first-round bye. Ware and Tran are ranked as the No. 7 doubles duo in the field and will test their undefeated record this season as a doubles pair. BYU Invitational runner-ups, Sheehan-Dizon and Anderson-Littlewood will also participate in the doubles competition.
First-round play begins Wednesday morning.
