Mayci Jones and Toby Miclat to play in All-American Invitational
PROVO, Utah – Sophomores Mayci Jones and Toby Miclat will participate in the 2014 Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships beginning Tuesday, Sept. 30 as a doubles team. They were invited as one of the best duos in the region.
The Cougars will open play in the first round against Kenna Kilgo and Lynn Kiro of Texas Tech at 9 a.m. Tuesday. With a win, Jones and Miclat would play their next match Wednesday.
“We are focusing on bringing good energy to our matches this tournament,” BYU head coach Lauren Jones-Spencer said. “We play our best tennis when we do.”
The BYU duo split their matches last weekend at the Cal Nike Invitational, beating a team from Pacific in the first round before falling to the No. 2 seeded team from Cal in two sets.
Last season, Jones and Miclat were named All-WCC Honorable Mention in doubles.
