BYU recognized with No. 3 mid-major recruiting class
PROVO, Utah--The 2013 BYU women's tennis recruiting class has been ranked No. 3 among mid-majors across the nation by The Tennis Recruiting Network.
The Cougars are ranked behind No. 1 Houston and No. 2 Southern Methodist and ahead of West Coast Conference foes No. 7 Portland and No. 11 Pepperdine. This ranking comes on the heels of a previous announcement that BYU has the No. 15 recruiting class overall.
"This recruiting class shows how strong we are going to be this upcoming year and how we will be moving forward with the program," head coach Lauren Jones-Spencer said. "I am very excited for the future and the potential of this team."
BYU boasts a recruiting class headlined by the 22nd-ranked player in the country, Mayci Jones, the younger sister of Jones-Spencer from Coto de Caza, Calif. Other freshmen are five-star recruit Toby Miclat from Claremont, Calif., and four-star recruit Savannah Ware from Thousand Oaks, Calif. Rounding out the solid Cougar class is Demi Daniels, out of Mesa, Ariz.
