With two returning seniors and a couple talented incoming freshmen, the BYU women's tennis team looks to improve from its 8-15 overall record from 2012.

  • The Cougars enter their second year in the West Coast Conference. Last year, the team finished sixth with a 3-5 mark in league play.
  • 2013 marks the third year for head coach Lauren Jones-Spencer. Her teams have averaged 8.5 wins during her tenure.
  • Seniors Aubrey Paul and Andie Young return for their final year as Cougars. Paul played most of her time at the No. 5 position and occassionally the two teamed up for No. 3 doubles.
  • Rejoining the team this year are sophomores Morgan Anderson, Lisa Waldron and Meghan Sheehan-Dizon and junior Desiree Tran.
  • Sheehan-Dizon returns after a phenomenal debut as a Cougar, posting a 14-9 record during the regular season, splitting time between the No. 3 and No. 4 singles positions.
  • Freshman Mackenna Maddox got off to a hot start at BYU by advancing to the semi-finals of the Cal Nike Invitational during the fall season.
  • Nicolette Tran, also a freshman, is the younger sister of Desiree Tran and a five-star recruit out of California.
