Dons down Cougars 4-2

SAN FRANCISCO - Two days after its first conference win, the BYU women’s tennis team fell to San Francisco 4-2 at Golden Gate Park.

The Dons (8-5, 1-2 West Coast Conference) picked up the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and 3 positions.

In singles play, BYU’s (7-6, 1-1 WCC) freshman Nicolette Tran earned a point for the Cougars as she topped Marina Nikolic 6-2, 6-4 on court 4. Senior Aubrey Paul added the second point for BYU on court 6 over Yurie Hashiguhci 6-2, 6-4.

At the No. 1 position, junior Desiree Tran lost to No. 76 Andrea Ka 6-0, 6-2. The Dons also won at the No. 2 and 5 positions.

The Cougars play their third match of the week at noon PDT Saturday against Santa Clara.
