SACRAMENTO, CA — No. 25 BYU women’s golf sits in a tie for sixth place after an even-par 576 on day one of the Gunrock Invitational at Del Paso Country Club.

No. 1 Stanford leads the tournament after posting 23-under (265) in the opening round and following it up with an 11-under (277) second round. The Cardinal hold a 17-shot lead over Washington (284-276—560) who sits in second.

Iowa State is in third place at 6-under after posting 284-286—570 on the opening day followed by California (292-281—573) who is in forth at 3-under par for the tournament. San Francisco rounds out the top five going 2-under through 36-holes. BYU sits one shot back of the Dons in a tie for sixth in a field of 11 teams.

Lila Galeai led the way for the Cougars on day one with rounds of 68-74—142. She sits just outside the top-10 in a tie for 12th at 2-under par entering the final round on Tuesday.
