PROVO, Utah - BYU softball's JC Clayton and Delaney Willard were named Easton All-Americans, with Willard named to the Easton First Team and Clayton to the Easton Second Team.

The Easton All-America Division I teams include 31 athletes from 17 institutions. Student-athletes selected to the Easton All-American teams are those "who have had an outstanding season in the circle, and those who have shown Easton power and prowess at the plate."

Clayton and Willard are the 9th and 10th players named Easton All-Americans in BYU history, respectively.

Willard, a senior outfielder from Camarillo, Calif., hit .418 with 71 hits, 88 RBI and 44 runs en route to WAC Player of the Year honors. Her 88 RBI and 1.54 RBI per game were both second-best in the nation in addition to ranking 14th and 11th, respectively, in the NCAA single-season record books.

The All-America honor is the second for Willard. The senior was also named to the NFCA All-America First Team and becomes just the second player in BYU history to earn first team honors from both Easton and the NFCA.

Clayton, a junior shortstop from Hollister, Calif., hit .405 and led BYU with 79 hits, 53 runs and four triples. She ranked 28th nationally in triples, 40th in batting average and 44th in runs per game. A first-team All-Region and All-WAC performer, this is the first All-America honor for Clayton.

With the honors, 2012 marks the first season in BYU history that the Cougars have had at least one NFCA (Willard), Easton (Clayton, Willard) and Academic All-American (Stacie Toney) all in the same year.
