Cougars Conclude 33-Game Road Trip

PROVO -- The BYU Softball team (16-13) closes its season-opening, 33-game road trip with four games at the Capitol Classic in Sacramento, Calif.

The Cougars have traveled as far as Tampa, Fla., and Long Beach State, Calif., on their roadstand that kept the team jumping from coast-to-coast.

At the Capitol Classic BYU will face its toughest competition against No. 7/10 Cal (21-4) on Friday. The two teams faced off earlier this season at the Bayer Cropsicence Classic. The competition ended with a 4-2 BYU loss.

BYU will first take on the host school, Sacramento State on Thursday at 3 p.m. PT. Sacramento State has struggled with a 9-15 overall record but has had a 5-5 showing in its last 10 games.

The Cougars will finish off the tournament with a matchup against Dartmouth at 9 a.m. on Saturday followed by Cal Poly (16-6) at 3 p.m. The red-hot Mustangs are on a 10-game win streak.

BYU opens it home season on March 24 again Boise State.
